GERMANIC ALLIANCE LUNCHEON

The Germanic Alliance is a group that includes organizations dedicated to the culture of German-speaking countries – Germany, Austria and Switzerland.  They celebrate this heritage each year in early September and this year it will be Saturday, September 10th 2016. 
The event is a luncheon at from Noon to 1:30.  

It will include honoring two persons of great service to the Alliance community:  the Deceased individual is Elmer Menhart, whose accomplishments include his work as president of the  “Nord Amerikanischer Sängerbund”- it is  particularly timely after the national event just held in Pittsburgh and  the living individual is E. Maxine Bruhns, Director of the Pitt Nationality rooms and Intercultural Programs.  

She aided greatly in the addition of the Swiss room (which joined the German and Austrian Rooms), a few years ago.  Entertainment will include the Teutonia Männerchor and Damenchor and dance groups The  Alpen Schuhplattlers and G.T.E.V. D’Lustigen Isartaler. 

Tickets are $18 for adults and $9, 12 and under.  They are available at Priory  Fine Pastries 528 East Ohio Street and at Teutonia – also at the door.
