Kölner Karneval (Cologne Carnival)

Please join us in the Ratskeller for a fun Friday night celebration of a hundreds year old traditional festival that is held every year in Cologne, Germany. The week-long festival, also called ”the crazy days”, takes place between Fat Thursday and Ash Wednesday the last days to celebrate before the beginning of Lent. Tickets are limited and priced at $25 per person.

Our event will be in true Cologne style featuring authentic beverages for purchase such as our Kölsch beer (the only beer served at Karneval), Killepitsch Schnaps and Sekt wine (a sparkling german wine similar to Prosecco). A special light Karneval appetizer buffet is included In the ticket price and will also be served including many Cologne favorites. This is not a sit down dinner. There will be a large open space to accommodate dancing and overall merriment. There will be lively German Karneval music mixed with American favorites.

Costumes are a Karneval tradition and are highly encouraged. Please note that Karneval costumes are colorful and fun (not scary, like Halloween). An additional complimentary beverage will be provided for a proper costume. We will also have a special prize for the best costume. Tickets will be on sale at the Teutonia Bar.

Note from the Manager: This party is sponsored by a group of our German members who hail from the Cologne region, a famous Fasching city. and are bringing 30 to 40 people to the event. They are opening it up for all of our members who purchase a ticket to attend up a the maximun number of tickets. The party area is the Dining area of the Ratskeller and our bar area will be open for members who don’t attend the party.
