You will have the opportunity to meet, ask questions, and talk with Teutonia groups such as the singers, Alpen Schuplattlers. Kinderchor, Pool League, Schutzenkameraden, Stein Society, Genealogy group, and Folk dancers, etc.

We will also have information about German language lessons and how to become more involved in general club activities.

This informal event will help you and your guests enjoy the club more. No reservation is needed for the new member portion of the night.

Some of the most illuminating pieces of information about our families can come from researching land records. Did you know that the deeds for land in Allegheny County date back to 1788? We will take a look at how to access the information in the deeds and a few examples of how deeds can break down brick walls. Please join us in the Ratskeller at 7:00 on the 25th..

All members of the Teutonia Männerchor with an interest in family history are welcomed and encouraged to become part of our Monday evening sessions, even if you have not joined us before. Bring your brick walls, your family trees, a laptop or tablet (optional), enjoy some camaraderie, and a beer or two. You may even meet a cousin!

If you haven’t attended in a while, please consider rejoining us on these Mondays when we have the Ratskeller all to ourselves.

If there are weather issues, please check your email for an alert as to cancellation or give me a text or call at 315.486-0338.

For questions or information, contact Carole or Diane Clawson.

Tickets are limited and priced at $25 per person.

Our event will be in true Cologne style featuring authentic beverages for purchase such as our Kölsch beer (the only beer served at Karneval), Killepitsch Schnaps and Sekt wine (a sparkling german wine similar to Prosecco). • SÄNGERHALLE

Fasching is one of the major annual celebrations in German speaking countries. It is the celebration before Ash Wednesday – a last party before Lent! While it is quite popular in the Rhineland Basel in Switzerland and North to Mainz and beyond in Germany, it is also celebrated in other Cities, including Cologne (Köln). One of our late members who hosted the German Hour program for many years in Pittsburgh ( Heino Coelle) served as the Prince of the Kölner Karneval as a young man.

The events in Europe are like the festivities enjoyed in New Orleans, with parades, masquerades, parties and festivities. In Switzerland, particularly, it is a time to dress in costume and rebel from the usual “businesslike” countenance. Here at Teutonia we warmup for it with a “kickoff” party called the Kappenabend held on Saturday, Feb 16th where members wear their craziest hats and have an evening of fun and laughter – and the selection of the King and Queen of Karneval.

On Saturday March 2nd we invite our members and guests to our Fasching Dinner and Ball. We offer them an opportunity to dress up for the evening, assume your favorite persona, and join us for the start of Lent!

As they say in Germany, “Am Aschermittwoch ist alles vorbei” (After Ash Wednesday, everything is over!”) A special Faschingsmenu will be served in the Ratskeller from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, prices ranging from $13.95 to $22.95.

Come celebrate with us for one of the most famous of German festivals! Tickets ($10.00) for the Sängerhalle celebration upstairs will be available at the bar, and a band will give the revelers a chance to dance and celebrate the event with the King and Queen! Costumes encouraged!

PLEASE MAKE DINNER RESERVATIONS TICKETS FOR SÄNGERHALLE AVAILABLE AT THE BAR

The relationship between a Father and Daughter is a special one. This event honors that relationship and allows you to celebrate it with your daughter in the Historic surroundings of Teutonia.

It is a celebration of the wonder of daughters and we invite Fathers and Grandfathers, to bring their daughters and granddaughters of any age, older Brothers to bring their sister (in honor of their father) and Fathers to bring their Daughter-in-Law.

Guest fathers and daughters are invited, with a member. The adult menu is Schnitzel for $20 or a 4 oz. filet and a crab cake for $23 and kids can order either chicken fingers and FF or a Hotdog and Mac and cheese for $14 - all meals are plus tax and tip.
